A Thingy You May Now Review

Over the past month or two I have been asked several times about when I will register for baby things. Since I have become a Goodwill shopper and consignment queen myself, it seemed strange to think of buying so much "stuff" for a little human being or two coming from such a "non-frills" first year. The first time I went to Target to look at baby gear, I about had a breakdown. So many decisions and so little knowledge of what was totally unnecessary. But as I talked with friends, I decided that there are a few things that will need to be new - a car seat, a play yard, a practical stroller, a monitor, a diaper bag, bottles... So today Steve went with me to Target and we officially registered for our new daughter(s). And like Pooh, the "Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different went it gets out in the open..." I'm fine now and beginning to think baby.

Pooh began to feel a little more comfortable, because when you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.

On the timing side, the list serves are reporting that April (we are in the June group) will receive their referrals (pictures & child-specific information) this week. There is a slight possibility some of May might be included. If it is, we will likely receive our referral in late November or early December. That might mean travel in January and we would return home well before Chinese New Year, February 9th.

Steve is trying to finish the first draft of his novel, and I will have wrapped up this semester of my UNCA class. Time has certainly flown during the fall with all of our other activities. Steve and I went to his 35th college reunion last weekend, where Steve revived (not literally yet) his college band to play a concert for the alumni who came to the reunion. It was great fun!
