The Plan
Here is the rough draft of our travel schedule. We have not received a detailed itinerary so we do not know the day we will actually have Tian with us. But it will be the 26th or the 27th. "Gotcha Day" depends on the times all of the seven families in our adoption group will arrive in Kunming.
Sunday, January 23rd Fly from Atlanta to Los Angeles, spend the night at a hotel near the airport
Monday, January 24th Fly from Los Angeles to Guangzhou, China (14 hours)
Fly from Guangzhou to Kunming in the Yunnan province (2 1/2 hours)
Wednesday, January 26th Arrive in Kunming (Yep! We're flying from the 24th to the 26th with no hotel in between)
Wednesday, February 2 Fly from Kunming to Guangzhou for American Consulate appointments (White Swan Hotel)
Sunday, February 6 Fly from Guangzhou to LAX to Atlanta
Monday, February 7 Arrive in Atlanta and stay in a hotel before attempting a drive home.
We are very excited, but our minds are so filled with details that we can't focus on the excitement right now. It is channeled into adrenaline. I've heard it hits when you sit down on the plane and have nothing more to plan or pack. We can't believe the moment is so close!
