So Far So Good

We are happy to say we have had an uneventful trip so far. Because Steve and I had saved frequent flier miles on Delta for years, we were able to fly free in first class the whole way. It was great - yes they really give you hot lemony towels and china with linen napkins. We didn't get to our hotel by the airport until 11:00 p.m., but it was actually 2 in the morning on my internal clock. I think I'll try to forget the internal clock for awhile, since it is unimagineable how to keep up when we are going to jump ahead 16 hours?? I think I'll just sleep when I can.

We have a lazy day in LA before our 11:00 p.m. flight to Guangzhou. Our plan is to do a late check-out at 2:00, store our bags at the hotel, and then go to a movie for a few hours of distraction.

By the way, before we left home yesterday, I stood by the door of Tian's nursery and thought I heard some sounds... Can you believe it was like Toy Story? The stuffed animals had come to life and were having a conversation. I think they were quite aware that changes were coming because of all of the suitcases in there for a few weeks, and then gone! The room has filled up considerably with baby "stuff" and the level of activity was intense. This is what I heard...

Pooh: You know Tian is coming to Pooh Corner in two weeks!

Tigger: I know! I know! I've counted the rocks I can do in this rocking chair until she gets here and I'm going to keep rocking! Come on Rabbit and Roo! We are going to count to 1,235,684,965, 583.

Eeyore: I d o n ' t k n o w... I f s h e w a s r e a l l y c o m i n g , I t h i n k s h e w o u l d b e h e r e a l r e a d y. I d o n ' t t h i n k s h e i s c o m i n g.

Pooh: Eeyore! She is coming! I know it is hard to believe but she'll be here and our long lonely days in here will end! I've made up a little song about her!

Sitting here
just wondering when
those people come home
with Tian
I'm so alone
my eyes are runny
I hope Tian
will bring some honey.

Pooh was still singing when I quietly went down the steps and out to the car. I sure hope that Tigger, Roo, and Rabbit don't rock themselves off the top of the book case.

We're on our way, Eeyore! You'll see!
